what if …. i brought this blog back ???????
hey gang, it’s been a while. (so long that this new post format is freaking me out tbh)
if anyone’s been paying attention then you might have noticed that i’ve been inactive since around new year (or rather, that i’d was mostly inactive since october/november but finally gave up on queueing posts). this, i guess, is my explanation / goodbye post because i just realised that i feel kinda bad for ditching out on people who have been super awesome for two years.
the last six months have been a quite a big change for me in terms of the stuff going on in my life, mostly due to the fact that i started sixth form (/ a new school - for the non brits here) and met a load of cool new people who i love dearly and have come to mean the world to me.
in short, what ended up happening was that as i spent more time with new people, talking about new things, and learning about new topics, all the shows and books and things that i loved became less important and i had to rely on my “fandoms” less as a source of intellectual conversation, or any conversation at all. (using quotation marks here because i’d been feeling out of loop with that sense of fandom community in a lot of cases for quite a while before summer tbqh). i am still massively obsessed with all my books and shows (though also behind with all due to my workload) but they are no longer things that i’ve invested parts of my life in, those slots have been replaced by people tbh, and i’m happy just to turn on a show without feeling like i need to talk about it for hours (sometimes i do, but not really in the way i did)
i’d also been feeling a lot of pressure to run this blog in a specific way and post certain things to keep up appearances and eventually i just got so fed up with that that i gave up on having the energy to carry on. that was mainly my fault tbh but i’m glad that i turned to my other/side blog to let me blog whatever i felt like.
all of my friends on here mean the world to me, and i’ve kept in touch with some through varying other places (if i haven’t been then i’m so sorry and please come and talk to me, i love you millions still babies). you’re all fantastic and i want to thank every friend and follower that’s been lovely to me since i started this blog because it has always meant so much and genuinely you are all the best people ever, i love you, i love you, i love you.
i no doubt will continue to check in on this blog and my messages and tags and networks every so often, because you all truly do mean a lot to me - but for the most part this blog is now inactive and if you would like to reach me then here are my social media links (pls pls inbox me for others) and here is my other blog (which is what i continue to use). i’m going to follow a lot of my friends/mutuals/faves over there to keep up with your lives so please hmu there too! :)
